Voice Search

EE Voice Search widget: speak a query (Web Speech API) or type it. Semantic Search ranks results when that lane is on; otherwise WordPress keyword search. Off by default.

Where Elementor: EE Voice Search. Admin: Elementor Extras → Voice Search.

How to use it

1. Turn on "Platform: Voice Search" under Settings → Add-on features.
2. Optional: turn on Platform: Semantic Search and index embeddings so spoken queries are ranked by meaning.
3. Add the EE Voice Search widget. Set placeholder, language, post types, and whether results use Auto, Semantic, or keyword search.
4. Publish the page. Visitors tap the mic (Chrome / Edge) or type in the field (every browser).
5. Open Elementor Extras → Voice Search to see which pages use the widget and whether semantic ranking is available.

Notes

• Speech never leaves the visitor browser. Only the resulting text is sent to this site, the same as a typed search.
• Firefox and Safari have little or no Web Speech API support; the text field is the fallback.
• Developers: GET /wp-json/landtech-extras/v1/search/voice (public keyword). Semantic ranking reuses POST …/search/semantic.
