Elementor Time Machine: undo any save, any day.

Every time you click Update, Time Machine keeps a version of the page. See each one as a layout thumbnail, find out exactly what changed, and restore the one you want in a single click.

  • Saves automatically
  • Restores can be undone
  • Stored in your own database

Live demo

Scrub through a page’s history.

Pick a version on the left to see its layout and what changed. This is how the History panel in the Elementor editor presents a real page’s saves.

First version

Nothing earlier to compare with. Labelled versions like this one are never pruned automatically.

In the editor, restoring saves the current page as a version first, so you can always go back.

What you get

A safety net for every Elementor page.

Time Machine runs quietly in the background and is there the moment a save goes wrong.

Every save, automatically

Each time you click Update, Time Machine keeps the layout, content and page settings. Saves that change nothing are skipped, and so are autosaves.

“What changed?”

Elements added, removed, changed or moved, with the old and new setting values side by side.

  • +Form
  • −Button
  • ~Heading text

Restore in one click

The page is replaced and the editor reloads. The version you replaced stays in the history, so a restore can be undone too.

Named checkpoints

Save a checkpoint like “Before client call” at any time. Labelled versions are never pruned automatically.

Compare any two versions

Elementor Extras → Time Machine shows every page’s timeline, compares two versions side by side and keeps storage in check.

Before and after

Stop guessing which revision to restore.

Finding the right version shouldn’t mean opening revisions one by one.

Before

A list of timestamps

  • Dates and names, but no picture of the layout
  • Open each revision to find the one you want
  • No summary of what changed
  • No way to name the version you want to keep
With Time Machine

A visual timeline

  • A layout thumbnail for every version
  • Added, removed, changed and moved elements listed for you
  • Labels like “Approved by client”
  • Restore, compare or delete from the editor or the admin screen

How it works

Three steps, no setup.

Turn on the Time Machine lane in Elementor Extras and keep working the way you already do.

1

Edit and save as usual

Work in Elementor and click Update. A version is kept whenever the page actually changed.

2

Open History

Click the purple History button in the editor to see the timeline, or open Elementor Extras → Time Machine.

3

Compare, then restore

Check “What changed?” and restore the version you want. The page and its CSS update right away.

Use cases

Made for sites with more than one editor.

Anyone who can edit a page can see its history and put things back.

Client edits gone wrong

A client removes the button that brought in sales. Find the version from this morning and restore it in seconds.

Hand-offs between designers

See exactly what a teammate changed yesterday before you build on top of it.

Redesigns without the risk

Save a “Before redesign” checkpoint, experiment freely, and roll back if the new layout doesn’t work.

  • Keeps 10, 25, 50 or 100 versions per page
  • Labelled versions are never pruned
  • Restores go through Elementor’s own save, so page CSS regenerates
  • Page title, URL and status are never changed
  • Stored in your own database, no external service
