Finds Media Library images with no alt text, generates Genius suggestions in a queue (10 per tick), and lets you approve, edit or reject before anything is written to the attachment. Needs the AI content generator and an AI connection. Off by default.

How to use it

Turn on "Platform: AI Alt Text Batch Runner" under Settings → Add-on features.
Turn on "AI content generator" and set up an AI connection (Settings → Connectors, or AI Studio BYOK).
Open All Tools → AI Alt Text Batch. The header shows how many library images still have empty alt text.
Click Start batch. Genius writes a suggestion for each image (10 per tick). Nothing is saved to the Media Library yet.
Review the table: edit a suggestion, Approve to write it to the attachment, or Reject to discard it.
Optional: Approve all pending writes every pending suggestion after a confirmation.

Notes

This is not the Accessibility scanner’s one-image “Suggest with AI” button. That panel fixes the page you are editing. This lane walks the whole Media Library.
Suggestions are stored in attachment meta until you approve them. Approved text becomes _wp_attachment_image_alt.
A cron tick continues the queue if you leave the screen. The admin page also processes the next chunk every two seconds while a batch is running.
