REST routes and external APIs

Every outbound or inbound API the plugins use. Keys are stored on your site. License and update traffic stays on landtechwebdesigns.com and is documented in the Premium readme.

WordPress REST (landtech-extras/v1)

  • GET /search — Public live search for the Search Form widget. Query is sanitized, post types are allow-listed, and requests are rate-limited per IP. No drafts or private posts.
  • GET /taxonomy-terms — Editor term picker for Search Form filters. Requires edit_posts.
  • POST /ai/alt-text — Generate attachment alt text via the WordPress AI Client. Requires edit_posts and edit rights on the image. Configure providers under Settings → Connectors.
  • POST /calendar/refresh-ical — Re-fetch an http(s) iCal URL from the editor. Requires edit_posts. Failures return HTTP 502.

Maps

  1. Create a Google Maps JavaScript API key and restrict it to your site. Paste it under Elementor → LandTech Extras → APIs.
  2. Optional: add a Snazzy Maps key to browse styles in the map widget. The editor loads styles from snazzymaps.com.
  3. OpenStreetMap tiles are used when you choose that provider. No LandTech key is required.

Instagram

  1. Create a long-lived Instagram Graph access token and paste it under APIs → Instagram Access Token. Do not use sanitize-stripped characters; the field keeps the raw token.
  2. Add a Gallery widget, set type to Instagram, and choose feed or hashtag. Posts are cached in transients.
  3. Opening the LandTech Extras settings screen refreshes a valid long-lived token (throttled) and writes the new token back to settings.

Calendar iCal

The Calendar widget fetches .ics URLs with wp_safe_remote_get and caches events. Editors can refresh a feed from the REST route above. Only http and https URLs are accepted.

WordPress AI Client

Alt text and Premium Genius features use wp_ai_client_prompt() on WordPress 7.0+ with Settings → Connectors. The plugins do not store OpenAI/Anthropic/Google keys for that path. Premium can fall back to AI Studio BYOK keys under LandTech Extras → APIs when Connectors are unavailable.

Other visitor-facing services

  • YouTube and Vimeo embeds in video widgets use those vendors when you enter a URL.
  • Social Share opens the destination network in a new tab when the visitor clicks. Nothing is posted automatically.
  • Lottie can load a JSON file you host or a URL you enter. Prefer files in the Media Library.
