Content Protection

Adds an Advanced-tab lock on any Elementor widget. Visitors see a password overlay; the inner HTML stays off the page until POST /content-protection/verify succeeds. Passwords are hashed on save. Off by default.

Where Elementor Advanced tab → Content Protection on any widget. Admin: Elementor Extras → Content Protection.

How to use it

  1. Turn on "Platform: Content Protection" under Settings → Add-on features.
  2. Edit a page with Elementor. Select a widget, open Advanced, and turn on Content Protection.
  3. Set a password and an unlock message. Optionally pick a lock icon.
  4. Publish the page. Visitors see the overlay; the widget HTML is not in the page source until they unlock.
  5. Open Elementor Extras → Content Protection to see which pages use a lock.

Notes

  • This is not WordPress’s page-level password. It locks one widget (or several) on an otherwise public page.
  • The password is hashed when the page is saved. It is never printed in frontend data-settings.
  • A correct unlock sets a first-party session cookie so a reload in the same visit shows the content.
  • Developers: POST /wp-json/landtech-extras/v1/content-protection/verify (public, rate limited). Filter landtech_extras/content_protection/rate_limit_per_minute.
