Smart Countdown & Urgency

Adds the EE Smart Countdown widget: count down to a date, a clock time in each visitor's time zone, an evergreen deadline per visitor, a daily / weekly / monthly schedule, WooCommerce stock running out, the end of a WooCommerce sale price, or a remote timer started from admin or the REST API. When it ends it can show a message, hide, go to another page or open an Elementor Pro popup, and it can record add-to-cart conversions in an Evolutionary Layouts A/B test. Manage remote timers under Elementor Extras → All Tools → Countdowns.

Where Elementor panel → LandTech Extras category. Elementor Extras → All Tools → Countdowns starts and stops remote timers, lists the pages that use a countdown and explains each mode.

How to use it

  1. Turn on "Platform: Smart Countdown & Urgency" under Settings → Add-on features.
  2. Drag the EE Smart Countdown widget onto a page. It starts as a daily deadline at midnight on weekdays, so it always shows a live timer.
  3. Under Countdown, choose what it counts down to: a fixed date and time, a clock time in each visitor's own time zone, an evergreen deadline that starts at each visitor's first view, a repeating daily / weekly / monthly time, WooCommerce stock running out, the end of a WooCommerce sale price, or a remote timer.
  4. For the WooCommerce modes, leave "Use the current product" on inside a product template or loop, or pick a product. The stock mode shows "Only {stock} left" and can end at a date as well as when the product sells out.
  5. For a remote timer, type a name such as flash-sale, then start it from Countdowns in admin (for a number of hours or until a date) or from the REST API. Every countdown with that name starts, moves and stops together.
  6. Under Display, choose boxes or inline, which units to show, their labels and the text above the timer. Under When it ends, choose to show a message, hide the widget, go to another page, open an Elementor Pro popup or stay at zero.
  7. Optional: under A/B test, pick an Evolutionary Layouts experiment. Visitors are split as usual, the countdown can be shown to one variant only, and an Add to Cart click while the timer runs counts as a conversion.

Notes

  • The first numbers are in the page itself, so the timer shows before scripts load; the browser then ticks every second. Stock, sale and remote countdowns check the server every 30 seconds (you can change this) and pause while the tab is hidden.
  • Visitor clocks that are wrong are corrected using the server time. Countdowns keep working on cached pages because the end time is worked out in the browser.
  • Evergreen deadlines are remembered in the visitor's browser, so clearing site data or using another device starts a new deadline. Use "Start again after" to offer the deal again later.
  • Repeating times in the site time zone follow daylight-saving changes. "Last day of the month" is available for monthly schedules, and "Hours open" makes the countdown show "Starts in" outside that window.
  • Redirects and popups never run in the Elementor editor. Use "Preview in editor" to see the ended, sold-out or waiting messages while designing.
  • Developers: GET /wp-json/landtech-extras/v1/countdown/{name}/state returns the current facts; POST with action=start and duration (seconds) or end / start (ISO 8601 or Unix time), or action=stop, needs manage_options (filter landtech_extras/countdown/remote_capability). Filters landtech_extras/countdown/runtime_config and landtech_extras/countdown/product_facts; the ltxe:countdown event fires on the widget whenever its state changes; window.ltxeCountdown.init( element ) starts countdowns added after the page loads.
